Telescopic steel covers are used successfully for many years primarily in the machine tool industry when a robust guideway protection is required.
Construction
A steel cover consists of several cover boxes which telescopically extend and retract. Some designs require scissor systems to ensure a homogeneous movement between the boxes. For ease of transport a rack or lifting eyes will be installed for heavier covers. As an option inspection openings and a checker plate on the largest cover box can be provided.
Material
Steel or stainless steel. The thickness depends on the cover size.
Mounting
For all working directions: horizontal, vertical, frontal or slanted.
Highlights
STEINBOCK telescopic steel covers are fitted with smoothly running wipers, with rollers or sliders. Special shock absorbers reduce noises when boxes retract at higher speed. When using aggressive coolants we recommend wipers made of FKM (Viton®). For dry machining we use wipers with high shore hardness.
